Tenfold, a non-profit organization providing programs and services to foster housing and financial stability in Lancaster County, PA, is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Housing Case Manager position.
The Housing Case Manager will use their experience and knowledge to assist families experiencing homelessness to obtain and maintain permanent housing. All individuals served have a serious mental illness. Necessary skills include active listening, prior successful experience working with people with mental illness, the ability to help clients identify personal strengths, creative thinking, and problem-solving.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- One year of relevant experience required interacting with/supporting persons with mental illness
- Compassion for individuals who are working to overcome challenges/barriers in order to be self-sufficient
- Knowledge of community resources, government assistance programs, and the desire to seek out services as needed in regard to resident needs
- Knowledge of housing search process and landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and service providers
- A commitment to empowering others to solve their own problems.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
