Thank you for your continued and ongoing support of Tenfold. As we have journeyed to combine Tabor, LHOP, and TLC to become Tenfold, we have strengthened our commitment to ending housing instability in our community.
Addressing homelessness is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. Understanding the root causes is the first step. Economic factors, lack of affordable housing options, and systemic inequalities are leading factors. Tenfold strives to address these factors through our comprehensive continuum of services and initiatives, which allows our staff to walk alongside our clients on their journey to increase stability.
Tenfold has an outreach team that locates and identifies unsheltered individuals in our communities and offers them supplies, assistance accessing healthcare and supportive services, and help identifying housing options such as low-barrier or emergency shelters. This is currently a real challenge in both the county and city limits, as there are very few options for the unsheltered to move into either low-barrier or emergency housing.
We also conduct programs that provide financial empowerment and landlord/tenant education, which help our clients better manage their personal finances and better understand their personal rights as a tenant. And we have increased our focus on advocacy and public awareness by working with the City of Lancaster, Lancaster County, and other nonprofit organizations to collaborate on updating data on the unsheltered to better inform us of potential new and innovative ways to address this chronic community issue.
Our community initiatives and advocacy efforts help raise awareness of the true root causes of homelessness in our county, city, and neighborhoods. This higher level of public awareness is critical to help reduce the stigma around homelessness. It is my hope that raising awareness will also encourage community support of Tenfold’s continuum of services, which are aimed at helping those who need us the most.
